Manager, Research and Studies (Ref. MRS-T)
Research and Studies Division
2-year fixed-term contract
Responsibilities:
- To propose, plan, organise and perform research/survey/testing projects
- To make proposal to Council Committees on the subject matters of study and/or to make recommendations concerning new projects
- To analyse research findings arising from research projects performed and draft research reports to be published on CHOICE, making recommendations for relevant follow-up actions by government and other stakeholders
- To verify test results to ensure quality assurance and report accuracy before CHOICE publication
- To liaise with product suppliers and service providers, government departments, trade associations and professional bodies in regard to survey and research projects
- To take part in the media interviews whenever required
- To write paper and research reports in both English and Chinese and articles for the Council's website and CHOICE magazine
Requirements:
- A recognised university degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, environmental science or a related field
- Strong background in research methodologies and practical experiences in quantitative methods, data collection, data compilation and analyses
- At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification working experiences
- Strong in quality management
- Self-motivated with thorough and accurate attention to detail
- Work well within tight time limits
- Excellent communication skill
- Proficiency in writing English and Chinese research reports
Terms of Appointment & Fringe Benefits
Appointment will be offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance and MPF. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service needs of the Division and the performance of the appointee.
