Manager, Mainland and International Affairs (Ref. M-MIA)
Public, Mainland and International Affairs Division
2-year fixed-term contract
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact point for Mainland and international stakeholders to enhance joint efforts in consumer protection
- Promote the Council’s presence and maximise exposure regionally and globally through targeted stakeholder engagement and strategic advocacy
- Oversee day-to-day administrative duties and communications and provide secretarial support to meetings
- Plan and coordinate visits, conferences, events, exchange activities, etc. with Mainland and international stakeholders; prepare respective briefing materials; receive delegations and ensure smooth execution
- Coordinate relevant divisions to collaborate with stakeholders to develop and review regularly cross-boundary standards, agreements, etc.
- Engage Mainland audience through effective use of social media platforms with creative content; monitor and maintain operational data and reports of Mainland social media platforms
- Monitor developments in Mainland and international consumer protection landscapes and conduct market analysis to support strategic outreach
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A recognised degree with at least 5 years solid working experience preferably with statutory bodies or sizable organisations
- Hands-on experience in liaising with Mainland and international government departments, officials, delegates, consulates, etc.
- Thorough understanding of Mainland and international economic and political landscapes, good knowledge about Mainland and international political and business protocols
- Self-motivated, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Fluent in Putonghua, Cantonese and English with excellent command of written Chinese and English for speeches, promotional materials, social media posts, etc.
- Innovative, flexible and able to deliver under time and resource pressure
Terms of Appointment & Fringe Benefits
Appointment will be offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance and MPF.
