Requirements:

  1. Be a qualified barrister or solicitor and admitted to practice in the HKSAR with at least 5 years' post-call or post admission experience
  2. Good grasp of civil litigation practice and procedures
  3. Have strong writing and presentation skills
  4. Have strong compliance and governance mindset
  5. Have the vision and passion to work as a consumer advocate
  6. Strong collaboration skills and a team player, being able to work effectively with various divisions to achieve common goals;
  7. Have excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese to include Putonghua
     

Responsibilities:

  1. Advising on all legal matters affecting the Council
  2. Assisting with the administration of and the work involved with the Consumer Legal Action Fund
  3. Conducting in depth legal research and studies in relation to legal protection for consumers
  4. Assisting with upholding good corporate and data governance of the Council
  5. Performing other duties as assigned by management such as participating in outside committee meetings, media interviews, training and public events for and on behalf of the Council
     

Terms of Appointment & Fringe Benefits

Appointment will be offered on a 3-year fixed-term contract.  Fringe benefits include paid leave, cash allowance, medical insurance and MPF.
