Senior Manager, Mainland and International Affairs (Ref. SM-MIA)
Public, Mainland and International Affairs Division
3-year fixed-term contract
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Council’s principal interface with Mainland and international stakeholders to shape and advance high-impact strategic partnerships and coordinated consumer‑protection initiatives
- Formulate and implement strategies to enhance the Council’s visibility and maximise its regional and global exposure through targeted stakeholder engagement and advocacy efforts
- Develop and steward robust stakeholder relationships, including but not limited to Mainland and international consumer organisations, government counterparts and industry representatives
- Lead major engagements such as visits, forums, conferences, delegations, and exchange activities, with Mainland and international stakeholders; Produce insights‑driven proposals, comprehensive reports, and executive‑level presentations and papers
- Provide strategic coordination across relevant divisions in developing, reviewing, and updating cross‑boundary standards, agreements, and related frameworks
- Develop comprehensive strategies and content that strengthen the Council’s impact on key Mainland social media platforms
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A recognised degree with at least 7 years solid working experience preferably with statutory bodies or sizable organisations
- Proven experience in a strategic role in liaison with Mainland and international government departments, officials, delegates, consulates, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of Mainland and global economic and political environments, complemented by robust knowledge of associated political, business, and protocol frameworks
- Self-motivated, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as to communicate effectively across all organisational levels
- Fluent in Putonghua, Cantonese and English with excellent command of written Chinese and English for speeches, promotional materials, social media posts, etc.
- Innovative, flexible and able to deliver under time and resource pressure
Terms of Appointment & Fringe Benefits
Appointment will be offered on a 3-year fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance and MPF. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service needs of the Division and the performance of the appointee.
