Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support and maintenance for application systems and computer equipment, including identifying user issues and recommending solutions in accordance with defined policies, procedures, and helpdesk records
  • Conduct unit testing to ensure deliverables meet accuracy and project or system implementation specifications
  • Prepare, assess, and review IT documentation — such as network diagrams, system equipment inventories, and incident reports — accurately and in a timely manner
  • Assist in developing and enhancing business systems to meet specifications for the Council’s approved change requests and new system developments
  • Provide day to day support for desktop PCs, Macintosh systems, network infrastructure, and communication equipment
  • Coordinate with end users and system vendors to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of computer systems
  • Prepare procurement documentation, including tender documents, technical specifications, evaluation criteria, and other supporting materials
  • Assist in organising and executing tender exercises, including participating in evaluations and liaising with Procurement and relevant stakeholders
  • Manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including procurement, inventory control, tracking, disposal, and maintaining accurate asset records
     

Requirements:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; ITIL certification is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years’ hands on experience in networking, server infrastructure, virtual machine platforms, SAN, Linux servers, VPN, firewalls, cloud infrastructure, and Windows Server administration
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Cloud products is essential
  • Working knowledge of VoIP phone systems, networking, and Internet security is preferred
  • Experience supporting Macintosh platforms and Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage
  • Relevant experience in preparing procurement and tender documentation, supporting tender exercises, and performing IT asset management is an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a good command of English and Chinese
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities; able to work independently and under pressure
  • A good team player, capable of engaging effectively with internal users and external service providers
     

Terms of Appointment & Fringe Benefits

Appointment will be offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract.  Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance and MPF.  Renewal of contract will be subject to the service needs of the Division and the performance of the appointee.
