Top Ten Consumer News

Top Ten Consumer News is organised by the Consumer Council, jointly with Cable TV News, Radio Television Hong Kong, Hong Kong Economic Times and Sky Post. Through this annual competition the public are able to relive some of the most memorable news of the year past. The public are invited to select and vote for the news that they deem are of the utmost importance to consumers during the year. The event aims to raise the general public's awareness of consumer rights.

The event this year drew a total of over 2,800 entrants participating in the voting.  The top news with 2,700 votes went to the scandal of the import of unhygienic lard from Taiwan, reflecting the deep concern of the consumers over food safety.  Please click here to view the voting results (Chinese content only).
