Papa Onion planned to buy a laptop for business trip to Paris. He saw an advertisement of XX Computer stating that “Free worldwide maintenance for all computers and accessories” and thus he decided to buy.
Upon arrival in Paris, Papa Onion found that the laptop was not working. He went to a local maintenance agent designated by XX Computer and requested for repair service.
Surprisingly, after reading the receipt and warranty card, the maintenance agent refused to repair for free and said, “Sorry. This laptop does not enjoy free maintenance. The repair charge shall be €300.”
Since Papa Onion needed to use the laptop urgently, he had no alternative but to pay the repair charge.
