- The Centre for Food Safety has urged the vendors concerned to stop selling the incriminated batch of the affected product.
- Prosecution will be instituted should there be sufficient evidence.
- According to Regulations 3(1) of the Food and Drugs (Composition and Labelling) Regulations, Cap. 132W, if any person who sells any food which does not conform to the relevant requirements as to composition prescribed in Schedule 1, he shall be guilty of an offence and be liable to a maximum fine of $50,000 and six months' imprisonment upon conviction.
The Centre for Food Safety will inform the trade, continue to follow up on the case and take appropriate action.
