The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (September 7) urged the public not to consume different batches of nine kinds of Smirnoff Ice brand alcoholic beverages as they may contain small glass particles. The trade should also stop selling the products concerned.

"The CFS, through its routine Food Incident Surveillance System, learned that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a notice that the manufacturer of Smirnoff Ice brand alcoholic beverages, Diageo Canada, is voluntarily recalling all affected bottled alcoholic beverages in the country as the products may contain small glass particles," a spokesman for the CFS said.
