Recall of FORSTA coffee/tea maker

  • 2011.03.03

IKEA asks customers who have a FORSTA coffee/tea maker to immediately stop using the product and bring it back to any IKEA store for full refund.

Pressure from the metal holder on the glass pot can cause it to break unexpectedly, posing a burn and laceration hazard.

According to IKEA, over 810529 pcs sold all over the world. The company has received 20 reports of the glass pot breaking, including twelve reports of burn injuries from spilt coffee/tea and one report of laceration injury. There are not any injured cases reported in Hong Kong.

FORSTA coffee/tea maker in two sizes, 0.4L and 1L was sold at the company stores worldwide between February - December 2010. Only the 1l model was sold in Hong Kong and cost at $159.9.

The company recommends all customers concerned to return the FORSTA coffee/tea maker for a full refund.
