TOMY Company, Ltd. (previously Takara Co., Ltd.) has re-announced recall of the Hello Kitty Warmer (with microwave oven heat pack).
The products concerned had been sold in Hong Kong since November 1998. However, it was found that the inner container of the warmer might be damaged by overheating and that the heated liquid inside could burst out causing a user to be scalded. The company has been conducting a recall of the products since May 2000.
Considering that some of the products have not been returned, and also that an accident happened causing a user in Japan to be scalded during the heating process in September 2006, the company is conducting a recall in Hong Kong again so as to secure consumers' safety and to prevent any further accident from occurring.
Consumers are advised to stop using the products, and to call the hotline to arrange for product return to the company for refund. The contact information is as follows:
