Concerns about “Cash on Delivery” Beware of Online Shopping Scams

Nowadays, many consumers like to make purchases online. Just like physical store shopping, online shopping may also have malpractices occasionally.  The Consumer Council (or the “Council”) has received numerous complaints since 2017 concerning purchases made online with “cash on delivery” (“COD”), and most of them were related to goods not matching the descriptions.  As these cases were similar in nature and the sales tactics used, the Council urges consumers to pay heed when they experience similar situations.
