To foster public awareness of various consumer issues, the public voting for 2 award categories—the “News Photography Award” and the “Tertiary Student Journalism Award”—remains an integral part of the Consumer Rights Reporting Awards (CRRA), organised by the Consumer Council. The 3-week public voting period officially starts today (8 August) and will run till 29 August. Members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite entries among the 5 finalists in each category through the online voting platform (available in Chinese only).
The results of the public voting together with the scores by the adjudication panel will be combined to determine the final awardees of the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merit Awards of these 2 categories.
Consumer news is closely related to the public’s daily lives. The Council hopes through participating in the public voting of the CRRA, consumers could support outstanding journalists and understand relevant consumer issues, as well as enhancing their capabilities in protecting themselves.
CRRA Public Voting: Sustaining the Promotion of Consumer Rights
Since its establishment in 2001, the CRRA has been a signature annual event organised and hosted by the Consumer Council with a successful 24-year run. As an authoritative annual award, the CRRA aims to honour local journalists for their exceptional achievements in reporting consumer-related issues.
