The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department today (August 16) advised consumers using Sunpentown electric fans to approach the supplier for arranging free preventive maintenance service.
The model number of the electric fan is SF-308, embossed with serial numbers from HC1003000001 to HC1003001950. A recent safety test conducted by the department revealed that the electric fan has deficiencies including improper fixing of conductors.
The electric fan concerned was supplied to the local market between April 2008 and December 2009. The supplier Gold Best Limited will offer free voluntary preventive maintenance service and will post notices announcing the arrangement in newspapers today and tomorrow (August 17).
