The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) co-ordinates with the local supplier of Zanussi products to launch a voluntary remedial programme on certain models of cooker hoods for public safety.
Starting today (June 24), the supplier, Dah Chong Hong, Ltd., will provide a free-of-charge maintenance service for specific models of Zanussi cooker hoods including ZH7110W, ZH7110GM, ZH7110S, ZH7120W, ZH7120GM and ZH7120S.

It was found that the metal cabinets of these units have not been properly earthed, which might pose an electric shock hazard to users.
A spokesman for EMSD urged consumers to immediately stop using the cooker hoods and contact the supplier to arrange for inspection.
