Hong Kong – 17 December 2018, Walter Kidde Portable Equipment Inc., through Stericycle, voluntarily recalls (i) Certain Plastic Handle Fire Extinguishers produced between January 1, 1973 and August 15, 2017; and (ii) Push-Button Pindicator Fire Extinguishers produced between August 11, 1995 and September 22, 2017.

The products may become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and may fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it may cause injury and render the products inoperable. There have been no reported injuries to date in Hong Kong. However, if consumers do have an affected product, they are encouraged to contact Stericycle for instructions and a full refund.
