Complaints or comments relating to competition policies
The Hong Kong Government, in its May 1998 Statement on Competition Policy called on business to cease existing, and refrain from introducing, restrictive practices that impair economic efficiency or free trade. Examples were given in the Statement of some practices that might warrant more thorough examination, such as price-fixing, bid-rigging, market allocation, sales and production quotas, joint boycotts, unfair or discriminatory standards, predatory behavior in selling below cost, tie-in sales and setting retail price minimums. It also set up a body known as the "Competition Policy Advisory" (COMPAG) to review policy issues related to competition. If, on the other hand, you would like to make a complaint as a consumer about matters such as:
goods or services not corresponding to description;
delay in delivery;
dissatisfaction of service; or
misleading and deceptive conduct
and you have negotiated with the provider in vain, you are also welcome to lodge your complaint with our Complaints and Advice Division .
