CHOICE # 333 (July 15, 2004)
Other highlights in
this July (333) issue of CHOICE
Printers - Results of a test
on 17 colour inkjet printers ($480-$3,288) and 6 monochrome laser
printers ($1,388-$2,380), comparing them for print speed, print
quality, ease of use, versatility and environmental protection.
Most inkjet printers can cope with digital cameras and can print
photos via memory card slots and USB ports. Two of the inkjet
samples can be used as mobile printers with additionally purchased
rechargeable batteries. The photo printing speed varied among the
samples with the fastest only 1.5 minutes while the slower 20 to 30
minutes.
Binoculars - Results of a test
on 14 models ($190-$3,800) comparing them for optical performance,
durability, and ease of use. The test models are for general
hand-held use and include 8X and 10X magnification categories, roof
prism and porro prism types. Some samples have special features
such as image stabilizer and digital image capture function.
